Sore Feet!

Haha, sorry i have nothing funny to say...and i can't think of anything witty or interesting to say!...and this is probably just a waste of ink cause i can't think of anything to say....hey you would be too 30 days into a journey!!...haha!

this morning we went to a musuem it was FUN!.....Emily made fun of the art gallery "i can feel the anguish of the painter in his strokes of red!"...Steff looked not amused...

she then goes onto tell me that i sound too posh and that i should sound more scottish than english..well sorry if i am proud to be english...we have had so many people coming up to us and sayin "you don't sound scottish" "well guv! thats cause we are from england"....i reply then Steff goes "naw mate we're from scotland ya bass..2k10 in da mix man!!" haha not really something along those lines anyways!...

we went to a buddhism part of the museum which i was really interesting in!...i was like "i knew that and that piece of information is wrong" and i was tellin Steff all about buddhism and she looked disinterested which was really not cool, we then went to a mineral rock part of the museum and steff went on and on it was like a chemsitry lecture! dad you'd of been proud!...Steff was moaning about sore feet as she had brought some new shoes and had yet to break them in...so we were walking extra slow!...i said enough is enough and we headed back to the hostel where we spent the rest of the day reading!...Steff brought cookies!!!

The Bagpipes were playing by a group of eople who were preteneding to be scottish...which is awful steff abandoned me! cause she couldnt listen to it anymore!!

Rainy Days Are Here Again!

We thought we had nothing to do, so we had a lie in! which was a terrible idea!...Emily awoke at 9am and got up and ready and Steff stayed in bed till around 10.30am. We looked at the weather forecast (not "WE" more like Emily!) and she thought it would be lovely and sunny(the weather forecast did say it was to be sunny!!) so we both put dresses and suncream on...as soon as we left the hostel it started to pour down with rain and didn't we stick out like a sore thumb, anybody looking at us would of spotted we were tourists straight away!...the rain didn't stop us from going out, we walked in the rain like it was a normal day where as others ran for cover under bus stations roofs and what not!...it was an eventful morning and Steff was rather peed off at Emily but she just laughed...it was lovely to walk in the rain, we went to the shops to get some food and Emily couldn't find the exit to the store and the shopkeeper was laughing at her!...we then went to get Steff a new pair of shoes cause hers were stinking and the soles kept coming out and they had holes in them and they were awful!!!....she desperately needed a new pair of shoes!...they were quite minkie!....the rain was pouring and wouldn't stop so we headed for a walk around to see what was what..Emily had to stop Steff from going to macdonalds!..the tempatition was far too much for steff but i reminded her that we didn't have enough money to waste on such things as macdonalds!! so i literally had to drag her away from the entrance to macdonalds!...we headed back to the hostel, hungry and cold!...we swapped into warm clothes and curled up and watched "Blast From The Past" in peace and quite...the hostel was really quite which was a surprising change from yesterday..

Chair Theft!

Well we are in Calagary!!...its a city! yay no more warnings of bears!! Steff is pleased about that...
We awoke at around 9.30am and went and got breakfast before we packed...we had nutella oatmeal it was rather awesome!!....we then put some nutella in a cup of milk to make hot chocolate for us both it turned out terribley wrong and it exploded in the microwave :/. We then packed up everything and went to sit upstairs and guess who we bumped into! Simon, the rafting instructor ..we now have the feeling he is stalking us..he was like "are you trying to get rid of me" cause we ran away!! haha it was not so good. The time came when we hopped onto the greyhound bus...there was so many junkies on the bus it was unbelivable..this was at 4.50pm, we arrived at calagary at 7.15pm and got instructions on how to get to the HI hostel, because i wasn't there and Steff didn't listen (but she said she did!) we headed half an hour in the wrong direction to be told it was 2 hours in the other direction, so after much grumpiness and muttering from Emily we headed to the HI hostel, Emily insisted we got a taxi and she was afraid of it getting dark and being with all the druggies! and she had the laptop in her bag and it was showing...Steff told her to quicken her pace and a millon swear words went through Emilys head (i'm sorry but Steff is annoying sometimes!) 10 minutes into the journey back Steff said "we shoulda got a taxi" i was like grr right we should of got a taxi!...i was not in a very good mood...tired and thirsty and feeling like i could rip her head off!....we then got to the HI Hostel where we were met by a bunch of drunk people who walked off with our suitcases while we were checking in...only for it to be returned by a sensible young man...we were not very impressed...Steff was raging! going mad and calling them a bunch of thiefing gypies it was very very funny to see her go red with madness...they just laughed at her!...they were only playing it wasn't like they were actually gonna steal our luggage....They walked us to our room where they managed to steal our room chair and replace it with a linen basket! it wasn't very funny.....It took me like half an hour to get logged on to the network!...and tomorow we are going to look around..so its goodnight from me!!

Don't Arrest Us!

We awoke in the middle of the night due to a woman talking in her sleep, it was very freaky and we both couldn't get back to sleep. In the morning we set our hearts on plans to go back to Banff for a day trip. We were stoped in our thoughts and the buses were not regular and we had missed the earliest one!. So what to do??? we got ready and then we decided to hitchhike to Lake Marine. We got a lift and not ten minutes after we set off, we got pulled by the police. There was 3 of us in the front seat with no seatbelts on, the copper came to Ems window and said "gid day mam", he asked Em if there was any reason why she wasn't wearing a seatbelt. She was struck dumb, she couldn't remeber how to talk. The copper preceeded to give the lady driver a lecture on why her bundles of joy weren't wearing a seatbelt, repeadtely calling her mom. He asked our ages and was quite taken back when we said we were 18 and 20 and not related to the woman at all. This did not spoil our day, it provided us with laughs for the rest of the day. We went to lake marine with Tammie, "our mother", altho she was only ten years older than Steff.The Lake was blue like pepsi...and it was glittering with the rain, it was very beautiful. On our way we had to slam the breaks on cause a baby bear cub ran across the road, we were quite glad we never saw the mother bear!...Steff would of pooped her pants!....we then left to go back to the hostel, where we met some girls and played monoply and uno and different card games, we then got nachos!...and felt lazy for not walking anywhere today!....

If you get chased by a bear..you might need to change your underwear don't worry be happy..(8)

Haha, today is Canada Day wooo!, we awoke this morning with the thoughts of free food and drink...however we were so wrong. We woke up half an hour after the free pancake breakfast and we were gutted but there was free cakes at the reception desks so we gobbled up the whole plate! you can't put free food on a desk and expect the scottish to ingnore it!..haha, they were delicious!. We then went for a hike to Lake Louise which took us an hour and fifteen minutes even tho we wnt the wrong way, the woman behind the desk said it would take an hour so we were like yay!...but we were also gutted cause we had packed our swim suits and wanted to do the annual dive into Lake Louise but we were also late for that and arrived when it had just started!...to get to Lake Louise from the hostel we had to go through a "bear-zone"...(we saw no bears! thats probably because they had heard mine and steffs horrible singing(we were singing at the top of our voices to scare them away)....we took a walk around Lake Louise! its beautiful!...the lake was like blue! and i was speechless...we decided to get some lunch at lake louise but thought twice about it and decided not to (cause prices were over $50 for like a meal), there was a BBQ on at Lake Louise but it cost $25!!!!!! so we decided to go back to the hostel, on our way we heard there was a cheapy BBQ for $6 so we headed to the BBQ!...we were shocked! it was like going back in time, everyone was younger and there was lots of screaming kids around, i had flash backs of dollar gala, it was exactly like that...we felt awkard so we quickly gobbled down our burger and drinks and went back to the hostel. We saw a man with dreadlocks standing infront of the door, he had his back to us and meand steff were staring at him like we regonized him (even tho we couldn't see what he looked like!) he turned around and looked at us funnily(probably because we were staring at him!) he said hello and we replied and steff went "who was that" and i replied at the top of my voice(so the guy would regonize us cause i instantly regonized him!) ITS SIMON!, he came over to us and was like "hey girls you came rafting? i was your instructor eh?!" and we got talking to him, it was so freaky we met him here...we never thought he was gonna be one of the people we would see again...it was a strange experience....today we are relaxing after 10 miles of walking and my feet are killing me!!!!!!!!.....there is a free bbq tonight at the hostel so we might eat and eat!! haha!

Ahhhh!

We awoke at 7.30am and didn't get ready till eight, we still had all our packing to do and get to the greyhound coach station by nine!..it was AWFUL!, we were rushing around and just shoved all the food in my bag (which caused all my clothes to become sticky cause the sugar and oatmeal and syrup burst everywhere!!!) which frustrated me!. We then managed to get to the greyhound coach on time and arrived at the station at 9.15am impressive!..We got on the coach to lake louise which took around 45 minutes...so we jumped off and due to my research the night before i had managed to get directions for the hostel, a guy tagged along with us cause he had no idea where he was going (we have known him bout four hours and we don't even know his name!)...haha, we then booked our canada day tickets and went to the information centre where we asked for things to do in Lake Louise...the guy brought out a map and basically scribbled out all the entrances to the town..cause of bears!, bears have surrounded lake louise, lets hope we don't run into any in our hikes...! the hostel is really pretty and big...theres a sauna in it and two games room and a massive screen tv..however IT IS SNOWING!!!!!....we are gonna be in for a cold night -1*C here!...brrrr..glad i brought a jumper!...we have looked around and its really pretty, might go see a bear safety film thing tonight...or go on a midnight hike with the hostel!!..:D

we went for a meal last night..and got a starter, two loafs of bread, a main, a dessert, two cokes, a coffee..all for just £12 (£6.00 each) which was super!!!!

Ain't how fast i get there, ain't about whats waiting on the other side! its the climb! (8)

Well what can i say! today i am so proud of myself we walked up Sulphur Mountain which is:
Starting elevation: 5200 feet
Terminal elevation: 7484 feet
Distance: 3.4 miles (one way)
Difficulty: moderate to strenuous!

(i dunno if taht means anything to you but IT WAS BIG!)

oh and lastest update as i forgot to put it in!

when i was running for the bus my shorts fell down! it was so embrassing cause they are wayyy to big for me!...it was so bad!

Steff freaked out when she saw a moose so we had to walk in a different direction which added like 100 mintues to the jounrey cause she is a scardey cat!

The hike was awesome...we had a full FREE breakfast(the most expensive thing on the menu) ! (eggs, sausages, the works!) and we headed up, it took us 1.30hrs when it was meant to take 2-5 hours so we were proud of ourselves...it was hard work but i felt disappointed when at the top of Sulpher Mountain we saw the mountain we climbed 2 days ago and it was tiny!, however Suplhuer Mountain was easier which i didn't undertsand probably due to the fact that on the top of the mountain theres a place to sit! and we brought a drink and realised we didn't have enough for the gondola (the transportation which takes you down) so we walked down and it took us guess how long??!......3 hours! thats cause we were tired and couldn't be bothered!...on our hike we saw 7 mountain goats some chipmunks (which nearly bit off a child's finger) and some birds which creeply followed us on the trail!.

rafting was funnnnn!

i am exhausted after the hike, certainly cause we did it in non-hiking stuff...it was rather hard! we then sat outside a very posh hotel and we looked a state! and felt very standing outsidish with sweaty hair and red faces!, there was a deer stopping all the traffic!...which was funny!,

to be honest Banff is great, the people are lovely and theres so much things to do, tomorow we are heading to Lake Louise! where we are staying for Canada day which will be great!

we heard england got kicked out the world cup...awww ahahahahahahahah!!! and i don't know why you are cheering those from scotland as they never even got into it! mwhahaah!.

i have to tell you about this convo between our (new zealandish)rafting instructor and a man named ward..
RS: have you seen any bears (cause he is new zealandish it came out beers)
Ward: yes i have had some beers
RS: No Beers..like the big grizzly things that go rawr
Ward: oh you mean bears?
RS: Yes beers
